In the late 90s and early 2000s Greenview Industrial was home to a space called the “The Foundation”, which was a safe space for Calgary graffiti artists to practice their craft. This September Greenview saw 24 artists from across Western Canada come together to celebrate this Calgary and Canadian graffiti history. Four new murals were collaborated on, a zine documenting this history was produced, a photo show commemorating Calgary graffiti history went up at Congress Coffee, and there was a community event featuring a spray painting workshop.
Greenview’s new Graffiti Jam murals can be found at Associated Cabs, Boyd Autobody and Glass and two mobile murals in our BIA. Come check them out!
